Tibet, Nepal and Ladakh – Trekking in the Buddhist Himalayas.
We’re regular visitors the Indian Himalaya where we’re able to trek in the wonderful high altitude desert landscapes of the Tibetan plateau. At www.himalaya-diaries.co.uk you can link to a travel diary with photographs of our treks through the high altitudes deserts and passes of the Buddhist regions of Zanskar, Ladakh, Spiti, Mustang and Tibet – including our 2014 pilgrimage trek around Mt Kailash. You can follow our drive through Far Western Tibet and along the old Tibet-Hindustan road through Kinnaur; wander the lanes of the blue painted town of old Jodhpur in Rajasthan and climb Mount Toubkal in Morocco.
In the last two years we’ve been to Mustang in Nepal and Mt Kailash in Tibet – stunning locations with a rich Buddhist cultural heritage. We were in Nepal last autumn and took many photographs in the wonderful old towns of Kathmandu and Patan before earthquake that caused such devastation this spring. We’re raising funds for our friends in Nepal to help them rebuild their homes that were damaged and destroyed. There are photos for sale on the Nepal Relief pages of this website.
