This old Buddha statue has been worn smooth and has acquired a deep and rich patina.
The Buddha's right hand is raised palm outwards in the mudra of fearlessness. In his left hand he holds a bowl.
The statue is made from a dark mottled wood which has been worn smooth and has acquired a deep and rich patina. The face is elegant, the features gentle, the expression is clear and calm. The robes and plinth have been gracefully carved and special attention has been given to the edges of the robes.
