A magnificent beadwork hanging from Gujarat, decorated with scenes of village life, people riding in horse drawn carts, peacocks, horses, birds, all bordered by rows of lions.
In a style that is unique to Gujarat, tiny coloured beads have been sewn onto a backing cloth to make this unique panel that would be placed over a window or doorway.
The pendants that hang down from the main panel are decorated in a similar fashion. We collected beautiful pieces of beadwork like this in the seventies. Now you hardly see them, and never of this quality.
